CVS
Did any of you look at the CVS ad for this week online? It isn't the same one that we have here in Greenville. I'm not sure why this is. Do any of you know?
There are a few good things on sale this week.
Alberto VO5 is on sale 2/$1. This amounts to half off the original price.
Colgate toothpaste or toothbrushes (read the ad to see which colgate items are on sale) are 2/$3 look for a coupon to make this a little better deal.
Irish Spring bar soap 3 pack is on sale for 99cents. In this week's Post Dispatch there was a coupon for 30 cents off. Get 3 bars for 70 cents.
How are you guys doing getting deals at CVS?

Super Deal at CVS
You may have seen this on some other blogs but Gina tried it here in Greenville and it did work.
The CVS face cleansing cloths cost $2.99 and are giving $2.99 in ECBs.
The paper said that they would only give $1.
Also you can print a $2 OFF COUPON FROM THE CVS BEAUTY HANDBOOK to use with the purchase and you will make money!!

New to CVSing?
If you are new to CVSing (defined as: getting stuff for free or next to free weekly at CVS) then you need to read FishMama's tutorial HERE.
She gives you the step by step for building your ECBs and saving money at CVS. The tutorial is geared directly for this week's (and month's) deals.
This is a must read if you aren't already taking advantage of all of the deals at CVS.
*Remember: Today starts the July deals. You should probably get them a.s.a.p since we know our store doesn't have a very good track record of reordering sale items.

CVS 6-29 thru 7-5
Not much is a really good deal, considering they don't have the mascara, but the Right Guard is still a good one.
Buy one RightGuard deoderant for 6.99. Use the $1 coupon from the May 18th Smart Source (SS 5-18) and get $5 ECBs.
That means that you will pay $5.99 for a stick of deoderant and CVS will pay you $5 after you buy it. Deo for 99 cents. Not bad.
If you have ECBs from a previous transaction (like I did) you can pay with them and end up paying just pennies out of pocket for the deoderant.
That's how we play the CVS game.
For all the deals at CVS this week click HERE.

Problems at CVS
Problem #1: Keeping items in stock.
CVS is already out of the Oral-B CrossAction toothbrushes and it is only Monday!!
This is getting to be a habit with them. I bought the last two SmartRinse mouthwashes on June 1st and they still do not have any in stock. That is 15 days and they still haven't restocked them. When you complain about these things they will tell you that they restock the shelves on Thursdays...however obviously a couple of Thursdays have come and gone since then and they still haven't restocked the mouthwash.
What you can do about it:
- Complain to the store manager. The squeeky wheel gets the grease.
- Ask for a rain check. (If you are getting a rain check for an item that is only on sale or generating ECBs for that specific week you will have to buy the "invisible" items and then they will give you a raincheck that says you already paid. You bring that raincheck in later when the item is in stock and get your items.)
- Complain to CVS national offices. Sometimes your receipt will have a toll free number you can call to take a poll. You can tell them exactly how you feel and what you couldn't find, etc.
Problem #2: Having the wrong size for the sale price.
Today I went to buy the Alavert. The 6.99 sale price and $5 ECBs were for the 12 or 15 count boxes. CVS didn't have anything smaller than 18 count. I asked the manager (Lori, now I know her name) and she said that the 18 count boxes were bonus packs (originally marked 12 ct. but boosted to 18) and would count for the sale price and the ECBs. She was right. It all worked when I checked out.
What you can do about it:
- Always ask the manager. Those Alaverts were not marked in any way shape or form. They didn't say they were on sale for 6.99 or that they gave ECBs...but they did.
- Know your sale flyer. Keep it with you at all times in order to show clerks and manager they exact items and sizes.
I hope this helps you all.

Toothbrush Deals at CVS
This week's Smart Source insert has a BOGO coupon for the same Oral B Cross Action Toothbrushes that are giving ECB's at CVS.
They are $5.99 each and produce $3 in ECBs. With the BOGO coupon they are free.
There is also a coupon in the June P&G insert for these toothbrushes, so it pays to do the deal twice. (The limit is 5.)

Alavert CVS Deal
Go here to print off a $4/1 Alavert coupon.
(I've read that you can hit back and refresh and print two of them but that didn't work on my computer. Instead I entered Brian's info the second time and it printed another one.)
Alavert is giving $5 ECB's at CVS this week when you purchase two at $6.99.
If you use two $4/1 coupons you will be spending 5.98 and earning $5.
$0.98 cents for 2 allergy meds is quite a deal!

Free Cereal at CVS
Actually it is better than free. You get paid $0.50 to eat it.
Yep that's right! Malt-O-Meal is $1.00 a box at CVS right now.
Click here to print a coupon for $1.50 off of any Malt-O-Meal cereal. Also go to Maltomeal.com and you can print a $1.00 off coupon.
(From what I've read CVS will not pay you the overage (Wal-Mart will) so you'll need to buy something else to use up the 50 cents and a little more.)
*Note: The linked coupon is a "bricks" coupon. That means you can print it from home when you install the coupon printer. You only have to install it once and then you can use it for all "bricks" coupons.
Also, "bricks" coupons can usually be printed more than once. After the first one starts printing you can hit the "back" button and then the "refresh" button and it will print again. Sometimes you can do this multiple times and end up with 5 or even 10 of the same coupon.
WooHooo lots of cereal!!!
